GENERAL
REVIEW
Roy came to R. L. Stevens
as an owner of a small start up marketing company. While
his company was growing, his income wasn't. Prior to
starting his own business, Roy was a very successful marketing
professional, commanding a very high six-figure salary.
In his own business, he was only able to pay himself a minimal
salary. Roy knew he wanted to continue in his start up,
but had to generate some cash flow for his family to survive.
he needed the security of full time employment, and knew his
marketing skills were in demand in the city.
Unfortunately, he had tapped all of his own contacts, and
nothing turned up for him. That is when he came to RLS
to solve this problem.
Roy was very
excited, and ready to try new techniques. He was anxious
to begin the RLS process, and eagerly worked the RLS database,
making networking contacts, direct to hire contacts, and
watching the spot opportunities board.
An archived
spot opportunity from December proved to be the right lead to
follow up on. A local marketing company announced a
partnership with 2 worldwide film distributors. As a
result, Roy knew the company was in growth and expansion mode.
No jobs were listed on the company website: without his
consultant, he would have considered the lead dead. He
said, "Just like you suggested, I
picked up the phone and called the VP of Marketing. We
had a great conversation and just as you predicted, they have
been looking for someone with my skill set. I couldn't
believe a job might come from a source like this, but it sure
did! After receiving their written offer, I used your
suggested negotiating techniques and went back to the
negotiation table. I got a 25% increase off of their
initial offer, additional stock options and more vacation
time.
I never doubted
the guiding hand of my consultant. She was sure,
steadfast and confident I could turn this into a job offer.
Boy was she right! I can't believe my job search is
already over!"
